Short cuts:

When it comes to sending SMS or MMS messages to customers or individuals, registration with The Campaign Registry is essential. Let's delve into the reasons behind this requirement, the nature of its compulsion, and the timeframe of obtaining approval for your campaign.

Why Register a Campaign?

In the realm of SMS and MMS marketing, The Campaign Registry functions as a regulatory body, helping maintain trust, integrity, and security. Registering your campaign is not just a simple administrative task, but it signifies the legitimacy of your business and the nature of your messages.

The problem of unsolicited messages or spam is a common menace in digital communication. By registering with The Campaign Registry, businesses display a commitment to transparent and legitimate communication. This ensures that your messages won't be flagged as SPAM, protecting your brand's reputation and maintaining the effectiveness of your messaging campaign.

Is Campaign Registry Compulsory?

For all 10DLC traffic sent to U.S. numbers, registering with The Campaign Registry is mandatory. It's more than just a guideline; it's regulatory compliance that all businesses must adhere to. Upon registration, brands will have to provide their legal company name, legal company address, and EIN/Tax ID. These details are then cross-verified against multiple databases.

Status

The outcome of this verification process is a status of either 'Verified' or 'failed'.

The 'Verified' status offers additional trust and credibility to your campaign, enhancing the delivery rate and improving customer interaction.

On the other hand, a 'failed' status can lead to deliverability issues and potential mistrust from the recipients, harming your campaign's efficacy. Therefore you should edit your information and resubmit your form to get verified.

⚠️ Before re-submitting the Campaign Registration

  • Ensure your business website includes the Terms and Services

  • Confirm that your website has a Privacy Policy

  • Verify that there's an Opt-in form on your site

  • Make sure a CTA statement is placed below the Opt-in form (a checkbox to consent to opt-in and receive marketing SMS)

If all these elements are present on your website, you may proceed to re-submit your campaign registration. It's essential to have these in place due to the US carrier's manual vetting process. The absence of any of these components on your website will result in TCR not approving your campaign registration.

NOTE: If your status shows "Failed" and no option for resubmitting on your own, please reach out to the Support team and we will help resubmit it for you.

The Approval Timeframe

Following registration, it generally takes between 3 to 7 business days to obtain campaign approval. During this period, The Campaign Registry evaluates the details you provided during registration to ensure they are accurate and authentic. The approval process is a necessary step to maintain a healthy messaging ecosystem, free from misuse and SPAM.

Until you receive approval for your campaign, it's advisable to limit your SMS automation to 100 for each campaign. This helps to avoid any potential compliance issues and ensures your campaign doesn't surpass thresholds that might be considered spamming activity.

In conclusion, registration with The Campaign Registry is a crucial step for businesses running SMS or MMS campaigns. It validates your brand's legitimacy, complies with regulatory guidelines, and secures your messages from being marked as SPAM, therefore, enhancing the overall effectiveness of your campaign. The registration process is a small investment of time that reaps substantial benefits for your brand's communication strategy.
