Before sending your first SMS to your leads to start booking calls, it's crucial to ensure that you have correctly set everything up and complied with the carrier's requirements. This is important to prevent any future problems with carriers or your account. Although we understand your eagerness to start, taking these necessary precautions will save you from potential headaches.

1) Include a clear way to opt-out

It is crucial to include the appropriate opt-out language in your initial messages for your initial campaigns. This is essential because it provides your leads with the option to decide whether they want to continue receiving SMS messages from you or not.

Example:

  • Reply "not interested" to unsubscribe

  • Reply "remove" to unsubscribe

2) Identify Yourself

In your initial message, you want to make sure the lead knows you are sending them an SMS. Since you don't want to assume they have you in their contacts saved.

Here is a simple example you can use in your initial message.

Hi {{firstname}}, my name is Daniel from WooSender. Are you interested in learning how to get more booked calls with WooSender?

Reply STOP to unsubscribe

As you can see I identify myself and what company I am working for as well.

3) Send at the correct times

What you don't want to do is send an SMS at 1 AM in the morning and wake someone up from their sleep.

Make sure you are sending your SMS messages during working hours. Depending on where the lead is currently living in so make sure you are sending at the correct working hours.

The last thing you want is to send someone a 6 AM message to someone living in the PST timezone.

Set the automation schedule to 8 AM to 7 PM

4) Clear opt-in website

Make sure you have your website is live with all the proper information.

  • Make sure your privacy policy is linked to your homepage

  • Make sure your terms and services are linked to your homepage

As well as your opt-in form on your website should contain the following text

  1. "Consent {{white checkbox}}

  2. By clicking "Submit", I consent to join the email list and receive SMS from {{companynamehere}} with access to our latest offers and services. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. More details on this along with our Terms and Conditions are in our {{privacy policy page link}}. Text "HELP" for help or contact us at {{number}} Text "STOP" to cancel."
