What is this about?

At WooSender, we're dedicated to helping our clients ensure that their SMS messages are delivered reliably. We understand that it can be frustrating to have your account suspended or blocked due to improper use. To prevent this, we'll be closely monitoring your account's delivery rate (error rate & opt-out rate) and taking proactive steps to keep it within acceptable limits.

What are error and opt-out rates?

Error Rate

You're trying to send SMS messages to contacts that are either no longer available, unreachable, or using a non-SMS-capable device such as a landline. It could also be due to past bad sending behavior that has caused external carrier filters to reject your SMS. A good error rate would typically be between 0 and 8%.

Opt-out Rate

You're sending messages to those who have objected, filed complaints, or marked them as spam. Ideally, you should aim for an opt-out rate between 0 and 1%.

What are the limits and what will happen when I violated them?

  • Error Rate: 12.5%

  • Opt-out Rate: 2.5%

Once you go over the limit, we will be going to put your account under Temporary SMS Restriction. As soon as the account is put under the restriction, all outbound SMS will be failed until 00:00 AM UTC.

However, you will be still able to send out automation messages via other channels or make one on one conversations, Test SMS, Resend Messages, and MissedCallTextBack allowed even if the account is under restriction.

How would I know when I go over the limits?

On your account page, you'll receive a warning email and pop-up on your WooSender account about your account being put under Restriction. And you'll also be able to keep track of your error rate and opt-out rate via the Account Info section on the Settings page.

NOTE: If your account is put under Temporary SMS Restriction three times, we will suspend your account completely.
