Import Contact Step 3: Import Options

The import option will help you to handle duplicated contacts when uploading a new contact list.

When you select:

  1. Add as new and update existing contact records

    • If your list contains both new and existing contacts in WooSender, and those existing contacts have updated information such as custom fields or contact information, then this feature is designed to address your needs.

WooSender will either create new contacts or update existing ones, and it will be determined based on the phone number, email address, or both, as specified by your selection in the "Find existing contacts based on" option.

Once you have chosen your initial criteria, you will then determine the method for updating the information of existing contacts. You can choose to fully update all fields with the new information from your updated list. Alternatively, you can update fields that are currently blank and leave fields with existing information unchanged or only update fields with values.

2. Only add new contact records

  • If you select this option, despite having a list containing updated information for existing contacts as well as new contacts, only those new contacts not currently in WooSender will be imported.

Additionally, you can select the criteria for identifying existing contacts prior to importing. If you select "Phone", WooSender will compare the numbers from the new list with those already in WooSender. If any duplicates are found, they will not be imported into the system.

3. Only update existing contact records

  • If your intention is to solely update existing contacts within WooSender, this option is ideal for you. In contrast to the second option, this will only import contacts that are already present within WooSender.
