What is the Contact List Validator?
The Contact List Validator identifies the type of phone numbers in your contact list, ensuring that your account only sends SMS to those types which is potentially capable of receiving SMS. This reduces send error rates, improves your number's reputation, and lowers costs by sending fewer SMS.
It identifies the numbers into the following categories:
| Landline | Mobile | VoIP | Unknown |
SMS Capable | No | Yes | Maybe | Maybe |
How does it work?
By default, the Contact Number Validator is enabled. To disable it, navigate to Settings, select Account Info, and switch the Contact Number Validator to "OFF."
Once the contacts are imported or added manually, you will be able to see the phone number types. If a number is identified as a landline, it will be highlighted in red. Other phone number types will remain grey until the first automation is sent.
The grey color indicates that WooSender is unsure if the number can receive SMS.
After sending the first message, you will be able to determine whether the contacts' phone numbers can receive SMS. If a number is capable of receiving SMS, the icon's color will turn green.
After sending the first message, if a number is not capable of receiving SMS, the icon's color will turn red.
NOTE: If your message wasn't delivered due to reasons such as carrier filtering or the number being unreachable, the icon will also turn red. However, this does not necessarily mean the number cannot receive SMS. Try resending the message or resetting the number by manually re-entering and saving it. The icon will then turn grey, allowing you to attempt sending an SMS again.
NOTE: Contacts added PRIOR to toggling the Contact Number Validator on will not get this symbol until you edit the number or send them an SMS message.
